Interventional Radiology Scrub Tech

Your job is more than a job. The Interventional Radiology Scrub Tech assists the Cardiologist, Radiologist, Vascular Surgeon or other interventional provider with invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures utilizing advanced radiographic imaging equipment. Responsibilities Register cardiology patients by confirming patient identification and reviewing consultation requests for invasive cardiovascular procedures. Assist with diagnostic and interventional cases, including PTCA, stents, IVUS, angioplasty, cutting balloon, IABP, permanent pacemaker insertion or defibrillator insertion, among other procedures. Manipulate hemodynamic recording/procedural record equipment. Scrub as needed per case requirements. Choose correct order codes for tests performed and complete steps to submit charges. Maintain both automated and hard copy logs and assure that supply and procedure charges are submitted. Maintain equipment, work area, and adequate supplies. Maintain good radiation safety; in-services provided by cardiovascular/X-ray tech as needed. Coordinate work schedule with departmental leader to assure workload coverage. Assume responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the invasive lab department.
