We foster an open, friendly work environment and show up for one another every day.Role: Billing & Collections SpecialistReports to: ControllerFLSA: Non-ExemptLocation: El Cajon, CA - HybridWhy This Role is Important at Genesee Scientific?As a Billing and Collections Specialist at Genesee Scientific, you will be an important part of the finance team, responsible for the Collections and Invoicing processes. Your role will involve accounts receivable, identifying overdue accounts, and implementing effective strategies for their collection, ensuring timely and accurate resolution. You will also provide critical support for general bookkeeping and accounting functions, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.What You Will Do:Initiate and manage collections efforts for overdue invoices, contacting customers through phone, email, or other communication methodsMaintain and update customer account records, documenting communication, and collection effortsResolve billing discrepancies and disputes by working closely with customers and internal teams to find satisfactory resolutionsOversee and manage invoicing tasks within the eProcurement platformManually load key account invoices into the eProcurement system as neededReview the daily eProcurement invoice status report, troubleshoot issues, and manually upload problematic invoicesCollaborate with customers to facilitate smooth transitions to electronic invoicingPost various batches in Sage, including Sales Order, Drop Ship, and Sample Order batches, to generate invoicesProvide backup support for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and cash application processes as neededRequirementsWhat You Will Bring:Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred or equivalent experience3+ years of relevant experienceExperience in eProcurement, invoicing and/or collections preferredProficiency in Sage 100 ERP, and eProcurement platforms preferredSolid mathematical and analytical abilitiesExcellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional teamsAbility to maintain confidentiality and discretionDesire to work as part of a team, but also able to work independently and solve problems quicklyProficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Teams preferredThrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
