Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant at our organization will collaborate closely with patients and Occupational Therapists to deliver rehabilitative care aimed at enhancing quality of life. This position is available on a full-time or part-time basis in Grand Junction, Colorado, offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $27 to $38, along with a comprehensive benefits package. In this role, you will be instrumental in assisting patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals and regain their physical strength and mobility.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Occupational Therapists in delivering rehabilitative services to patients, guiding them through exercises and activities to enhance strength, balance, and mobility.
• Monitor and document patient progress, providing updates to the Occupational Therapist.
• Educate patients and their families on proper exercise techniques and equipment usage.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in treatment areas.
• Comply with all healthcare and safety regulations.
• Engage in ongoing training and educational opportunities to improve job knowledge and skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• State certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• A minimum of one year of experience in the role of Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent communication abilities.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Familiarity with physical therapy techniques, principles, and practices.
• Physical endurance to assist patients with mobility and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift and maneuver equipment and support patients in physical activities.
