Prep Cook – Al’s Restaurant Location: Al’s Oasis – Oacoma, SD Job Type: Full-Time and/or Part-Time Department: Restaurant Operations Join Our Team! Do you enjoy preparing food, baking, and keeping a kitchen running smoothly? Al’s Restaurant at Al’s Oasis is looking for a dependable Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. As a Prep Cook, you’ll help prepare ingredients, make recipes ahead of service, assist with baking, and keep the kitchen stocked and organized. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and enjoys being part of a hardworking team. What You’ll Do Food Preparation & Baking Prepare ingredients and food items according to established recipes. Wash, cut, portion, and prepare ingredients for daily service. Assist with baking and preparing desserts, breads, and other menu items as needed. Prepare sauces, dressings, and other items ahead of service. Follow recipes and portion standards to maintain consistent quality. Kitchen Operations Keep prep stations stocked, clean, and organized. Assist with receiving, storing, labeling, and rotating food products. Monitor ingredient and supply levels and communicate needs to management. Help ensure ingredients and prepared items are ready for the line cooks. Assist with additional kitchen duties as needed. Teamwork & Food Safety Work closely with line cooks and other kitchen team members. Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food storage procedures. Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Help maintain a safe and organized kitchen. What We’re Looking For Preferred Qualifications Previous food preparation or commercial kitchen experience preferred. Baking experience or skills strongly preferred. Ability to follow recipes and accurately measure ingredients. Food safety certification (ServSafe® or equivalent) preferred. Reliable transportation to and from work. Skills & Abilities Dependable, organized, and willing to learn. Strong attention to detail and food quality. Ability to manage multiple prep tasks and meet deadlines. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Commitment to cleanliness and food safety. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive food preparation tasks. Ability to lift and move kitchen supplies and food products weighing up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working around hot equipment and in coolers and freezers. Why Join Our Team?
