Location: Al's Oasis - Oacoma, SD Job Type: Full-Time and/or Part-Time Department: Restaurant Operations Join Our Team! Do you enjoy preparing great food and working in a fast-paced kitchen? Al's Restaurant is looking for a dependable, hardworking Cook to help deliver quality meals and an exceptional dining experience for our guests. In this role, you'll prepare menu items according to established recipes, maintain a clean and organized kitchen, support food safety standards, and work alongside a team dedicated to quality and service. What You'll Do Food Preparation Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards. Ensure food is prepared, plated, and served with consistency and attention to detail. Maintain high standards for food quality, freshness, and presentation. Kitchen Operations Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen. Monitor inventory and communicate product needs to management. Assist with receiving, storing, rotating, and organizing food products. Work efficiently to maintain timely food preparation during busy service periods. Teamwork & Safety Work collaboratively with fellow kitchen team members to ensure smooth daily operations. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Assist with additional kitchen duties as assigned. Demonstrate our Core Values in every aspect of your work. What We're Looking For Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous cooking or commercial kitchen experience preferred. Food safety certification (ServSafe or equivalent) preferred. Reliable transportation to and from work. Skills & Abilities Passion for preparing quality food. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and food presentation. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Dependable, organized, and able to multitask. Commitment to cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation standards. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, lift, and work in a busy kitchen environment. Comfortable working around hot equipment and varying kitchen temperatures.
