Title Substitute Custodian Eligibility for State Share Benefits No (Substitute Only) Description Serve as a substitute custodian when needed at any of our six schools. Reports To Chief of Buildings and Grounds Education and Qualifications High School Diploma or GED is required. Additional materials required for employment: Criminal Background Check, Health Certification to Work, TB Test within one year, Proof of education, Driver’s License, and Social Security Card. Application Procedure Interested and qualified candidates should complete an online application. Special Conditions of Employment All new state employees will be required to participate in the State of Delaware's Direct Deposit system. Final candidates must have a satisfactory criminal background check and child protective registry check. The cost of the criminal background check is $65, an expense borne by the prospective employee. Final candidates must also produce documentation of Mantoux skin test results for entrance to the school system. The State of Delaware has initiated a lag pay policy: new employees will receive the first paycheck at the end of the second pay period of work.
