As a System Development Engineer, you will be part of the innovative engineering department supporting large-scale service migration and performance enhancement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and excellent collaboration abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.Job Title: System Development Engineer (DRAM Memory Optimization - Rustification & Service Migration)Location: Seattle, WAPay Range:$70-75/hr on w2What's the Job?Lead end-to-end migration of services from Java to Rust to optimize memory and latency performance. Design and define type hierarchies, module boundaries, and API contracts to facilitate efficient service migration. Implement, validate, and optimize Rust-based services, ensuring functional equivalence with existing systems. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to execute safe rollouts, monitor performance, and manage rollback procedures. Document reusable learnings, create migration guides, and improve frameworks to streamline future migrations.What's Needed?Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. 5-7+ years of experience developing and operating backend services in large-scale production environments. Hands-on experience building, deploying, and maintaining production Rust applications, including ownership, borrowing, and async runtimes. Proficiency in performance and memory optimization techniques, profiling, benchmarking, and reducing memory footprints.
