Licensed Practical Nurse - Per Diem

Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients, coordinates care in conjunction with other departments, and upholds patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Position Details Location: Mercy Hospital – St.Louis and surrounding communities Department: GIG Status: PRN/Per Diem/Flex/Float Shift: Various shifts available Incentives $30/hour + variable shift incentive W‑2 employee Minimum 12 hours every 90 days Maximum 30 hours a week (Sun‑Sat) 4, 8, or 12 hour shifts available Variable shift incentives Work where and when you want! Overview Are you looking for a flexible, incentivized Licensed Practical Nurse position? The GIG Nursing Program allows you to pick day or night shifts with no weekend, holiday, or shift requirement. Participation requires maintaining a minimum number of hours, remaining available on short notice, and accepting last‑minute shift cancellations. The program does not guarantee shift hours. The Licensed Practical Nurse – GIG will float between the designated Mercy Hospital facilities of your choice. Departments Utilizing GIG LPNs Behavioral Health (BH) Emergency Department (ED) Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Medical‑Surgical (MS) Facilities/Locations Mercy St.Louis – St.Louis, MO Mercy Jefferson – Festus, MO Mercy South – South St.Louis County, MO Mercy Washington – Washington, MO Mercy Lincoln – Troy, MO Mercy Perry – Perryville, MO Mercy Southeast – Cape Girardeau, MO Mercy Stoddard – Dexter, MO Qualifications Required Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Licensure: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (or comparable education and experience). Must obtain and maintain a current LPN license and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements. Experience: One year of recent bedside LPN experience in Med‑Surg. For ED, ICU, or other specialties, a minimum of two years of recent bedside LPN experience. Certifications: Med‑Surg (MS): BLS Critical Care (CC): BLS, ACLS Emergency Department (ED): BLS, ACLS, & PALS IV certification required Preferred Experience Epic system experience. Physical Requirements Must be able to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly; endure prolonged standing and walking each shift; and perform tasks that require gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting.
