FACILITY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Position Summary

We are seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to perform building maintenance, repair, and renovation work within a water treatment facility environment. This position is responsible for maintaining the appearance, functionality, and safety of facility interiors through construction, repair, and finishing projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience with drywall, painting, flooring, ceiling systems, carpentry, and general building maintenance. This is a hands-on role requiring strong craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform drywall installation, repair, finishing, and demolition.
• Install, repair, and replace wall systems and interior finishes.
• Remove and replace carpet, VCT flooring, and other floor coverings.
• Install, repair, and reconfigure acoustical ceiling systems.
• Perform interior and exterior painting projects.
• Complete woodworking and general carpentry repairs as needed.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on facility structures and building systems.
• Maintain work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and effectively.
• Assist with facility improvement, renovation, and campus refresh projects.
• Identify maintenance issues and recommend repair solutions.
• Follow all company and site safety procedures.
• Perform additional maintenance and facility support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Vocational training, apprenticeship, or trade school education preferred.
• Experience with drywall installation and repair.
• Experience with painting, flooring, carpentry, and finish work.
• Experience installing and repairing acoustical ceiling systems.
• Ability to read and interpret basic work instructions and construction drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Ability to lift materials, use ladders, and perform physically demanding work.
• Knowledge of construction safety practices and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Trade certifications in drywall, painting, flooring, carpentry, or related fields.
• Experience in commercial, industrial, municipal, or institutional facilities.
• General maintenance or facilities experience within large campuses or industrial sites.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
