Ignite the Power of Communication in the Sunshine City – Take Your Next Step as a Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine if your next professional chapter was one where your voice inspired change — genuinely. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the picturesque setting of St. Petersburg, FL, you will venturing far beyond treating communication and swallowing disorders. You will be empowering individuals of all ages, rekindling self-assurance, and fostering connections — from the playful giggles of toddlers mastering their first sounds to the strong voices of seniors regaining their independence.
This position presents an extraordinary chance to make a difference in the lives of a broad spectrum of patients in a dynamic atmosphere that combines outpatient care with occasional inpatient evaluation. Whether your enthusiasm lies in nurturing children's language skills, aiding adults with neurological communication challenges, or working with older adults to restore cognitive-linguistic functions, you'll find immense satisfaction and adaptability in our environment.
Assess and evaluate patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatrics utilizing both standardized assessments and observational strategies.
Create tailored treatment plans that cater to immediate goals as well as ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing necessities.
Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on enhancing communication, language proficiency, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing abilities.
Work collaboratively with a multidimensional care team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to formulate cohesive treatment approaches.
Provide educational resources to patients and their families to aid progress and skill development beyond clinical sessions.
Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and treatments, ensuring seamless transitions and continuity throughout patient care.
Document all treatments accurately and promptly in accordance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized academic institution.
Fulfillment of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is still in process.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) training certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
Competency in evidence-based practices for patients of all ages, possessing a solid grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing concerns.
Strong communication skills that foster positive relationships with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary treatment teams.
Capacity to tailor therapeutic techniques to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Robust clinical judgement and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in electronic medical record management and compliance with documentation standards.
Competitive salary based on experience.
Flexible work schedules promoting a healthy work-life balance and varied patient caseloads.
Specialization opportunities in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Generous paid time off (PTO) along with holiday pay.
Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage.
Continuing education funding and support for professional growth.
A supportive, collaborative work environment dedicated to high-quality patient care and ongoing learning.
In this position, your role as a Speech Language Pathologist is a call to assist in not only rehabilitation through speech therapy but also to become part of a community-focused mission to restore voices and enhance communication, creating joy through those fundamental human exchanges: understanding and being understood.
Join a family-like team of dedicated clinicians, operating in a culture that prioritizes collaboration over competition. Every patient carries a unique narrative; we entrust you to help influence how it unfolds.
Life here unfolds in a unique rhythm blending vibrant innovation with welcoming warmth, characterized by beautiful vistas along the Gulf Coast. St. Petersburg, known for its stunning waterfront and rich cultural scene, offers both the allure of outdoor adventure and the bloom of urban creative life.
Stroll through the picturesque parks where families gather for afternoon music festivals and food markets, while outdoor enthusiasts find excitement in sailing, sunbathing on pristine beaches, or taking delightful bike rides along scenic trails. Culinary aficionados relish everything from delicious local food trucks to upscale restaurants, each providing its own twist on regional favorites.
The local culture is infused with creativity, from street art decorating the cityscape, to lively bars featuring musicians on the rise, to arts festivals that unite diverse communities. On top of that, the state's lack of income tax, paired with an affordable cost of living, makes St. Petersburg an ideal spot for anyone looking to prosper professionally in a vibrant healthcare landscape.
Whether you're an emerging professional or a seasoned therapist ready for new ventures, you'll discover abundant opportunities to flourish both personally and in your career.
We are looking for a Speech Language Pathologist who is driven by an understanding heart and a skilled hand. Someone who sees a shy child and envisions a bright future of self-expression, who hears the halting speech of a recovering stroke patient and perceives resilience shining through.
You could be a pediatric specialist looking to branch into adult therapeutic services — or a clinician experienced in neuro rehab, eager to implement early intervention techniques into your work.
If your passion lies in serving with compassion and leading with expertise, we can't wait to have you join our team.
If you know that communication stretches beyond words, and therapy is deeper than tasks — if you believe in establishing trust before pursuing goals, and in the power of laughter as much as language — this could be the next exciting chapter in your career journey.
Become part of a community that honors communication and connection, where courage is celebrated and new beginnings are cherished. Apply today to bring your voice to our team — and help others find theirs.
