Treasury and Risk Specialist

Role Overview The Treasury and Risk Specialist is responsible for treasury, insurance, leasing, unclaimed property, and related month‑end close activities. The position supports risk reduction, cash and collateral management, lease accounting compliance, and timely financial reporting through coordination with internal stakeholders, external brokers, banks, carriers, and service providers. Key Responsibilities Insurance (45%) Collaborate with the Finance Controller to determine insurance program assumptions using actuarial data, loss analysis and market guidance. Manage insurance claim submissions, handling workers’ compensation, auto, property, general liability, product liability and other exposures. Support annual insurance renewals and budgeting, gathering exposure data and evaluating expected premium changes for global and local policies. Provide accounting and analysis for all business insurance, workers’ compensation and selected medical accounts. Coordinate semi‑annual claims reviews and perform full accounting of split‑dollar life insurance policies. Leasing (35%) Prepare lease‑vs‑buy analyses to determine optimal financing options for capital expenditures. Manage end‑of‑lease options to minimize charges, including renewals, buyouts, terminations and month‑to‑month transitions. Maintain vendor relationships with finance companies, equipment manufacturers and internal stakeholders. Record lease data and perform monthly updates – new leases, expirations, modifications, ownership changes and status changes. Complete lease accounting month‑end close activities – invoice processing, journal review and reconciliation to the general ledger. Perform monthly Anaplan reconciliation and maintenance to align the leasing database with the ledger. Treasury (10%) Ensure security and availability of cash assets through security protocols and forecasting activities. Administer the online treasury software and perform complete accounting duties for the holding company, including journal entries, reconciliations and Hyperion form completion. Support letters of credit, standby letters of credit and bonds – renewals, amendments, collateral adjustments and coordination with banks and beneficiaries. Unclaimed Property (10%) Comply with Unclaimed Property laws and prevent creation through diligent reporting. File Unclaimed Property reports and manage third‑party audits. Ensure timely remittances and notices to the states. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience (accounting experience preferred). Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Strong project management capabilities – manage multiple ongoing projects, recurring deadlines, month‑end close responsibilities and ad‑hoc requests. Self‑directed and team‑oriented work style, with strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Desired (Not Essential) Experience in corporate treasury and/or insurance.
