Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Labcorp is seeking an entry level Medical Lab Technician to join our team in San Diego, CA. Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 6:00am - 2:30pm with rotating weekend. Job Responsibilities Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary Assist with processing of specimens when needed Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment Minimum Qualification Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology California state issued Medical Lab Technician license (MLT) Preferred Qualification Current or prior Labcorp experience Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology ASCP or AMT certification Additional Job Standards Proficient with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems Ability to work independently and within a team environment High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills Able to pass a standardized color blindness test Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs Pay Range: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage Life, STD/LTD insurance 401(k) plan with employer match Paid Time Off (PTO) and Flexible Time Off (FTO) Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan Labcorp is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer: Labcorp strives for inclusion and belonging in the workforce and does not tolerate harassment or discrimination of any kind.
