Job Overview:

We are currently seeking professional and experienced American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters to support students across Palm Beach County Schools. This position requires a strong commitment to communication access in educational environments, particularly for students in K–12 settings. Consistent weekday availability. You should be available to cover multiple school assignments throughout the week. The rate depends on Certification and Experience.

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and culturally appropriate ASL interpretation for students, teachers, and school staff.
• Work with children and teenagers in a variety of classroom and school-related settings.
• Support multiple school assignments throughout the week based on scheduling needs.
• Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards in line with educational interpreting guidelines.
• Collaborate with educators and other interpreters as part of a team-oriented environment.
• Stay organized and prepared for each assignment, including understanding the context and vocabulary related to classroom content.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities as needed.

Requirements:

• Valid certification: RID or equivalent credentials (BEI, NAD).
• Prior experience in educational interpreting, preferably in K–12 settings.
• Consistent weekday availability and flexibility to travel between schools within the district.
• Strong attendance record and punctuality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Positive reputation within the local interpreting or educational community.
• Willingness to engage in continuous learning and maintain best practices in the field.
