SUMMARY Training Manager – critical role in driving the success of manufacturing training and development at Amy's Kitchen Medford plant. Requires a strong foundation in learning & development and the ability to balance onboarding, safety, job‑specific, and leadership development programs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage and Grow Training Programs Follow a standardized onboarding program to ensure new hires gain the skills needed for success and have a positive experience. Adhere to onboarding plans and role‑specific training guides; document all training and update the Scheduler on new‑hire training progress. Maintain communication with People and Recruiting to stay informed on incoming hires and report new‑hire status. Track the buddy system, new‑hire progress and provide reports as needed. Compliance and Regulatory Training Programs Ensure all compliance and regulatory record‑keeping is up to date and the plant is audit‑ready at all times. All MFG Monthly Food Safety & Workplace training requirements. Role‑specific food & workplace safety requirements. Maintain compliance reporting and proactively communicate status in MOS Process. Partner with plant leaders to efficiently incorporate new safety changes. Ensure LOTO and PIT programs are followed according to established guidelines. Create/update training materials as needed. New People Leader Onboarding Ensure new people leaders have a strong onboarding experience and learn the skills necessary to be successful. Maintain line of communication with People & Recruiting to receive timely information of any new or promoted people leaders. Job Specific Cross‑Training & Continued Job Development Drive a safety‑first culture. Identify and assess training needs, creating/updating tailored learning plans by department. Ensure a process for cross training and continued skill development across all departments. Partner with department managers and supervisors to update role‑specific training programs and provide guidance. Partner with Engineering to ensure smooth transition and training for new equipment. Partner with Plant leaders for new process and product training. Leadership Development Embed Amy's Leadership competencies into all development activities. Develop, coach, and grow the leadership skills of manufacturing leaders. Coach and mentor supervisors and team leaders. Develop Strong Business Partnerships Actively participate in MOS process and engage with all departments. Build relationships to support process, condition, and equipment improvement. Champion safety programs within the plant. Collaborate with Training Leadership to ensure consistency across plants. Collaborate on KPIs and operational objectives that drive improvement. Continuous Improvement Mindset Evaluate and measure current training processes to optimize and grow programs. Identify areas needing new or updated training; work with appropriate teams. Represent the Plant in Audits Understand all training audit requirements and participate in internal and external plant audits. Ensure the plant is audit‑ready at all times. Productivity and Performance Lead and participate in Root Cause Analyses, update training materials as needed. Be an active participant in daily Tier board activities. Provide timely and accurate training data and update Tier boards weekly. Proactively address training issues and resolve them with leaders. Team Management & Development Responsibilities Directly manage Training Team across all 3 shifts and support team members across business units. Monitor the team's effectiveness and performance. Interview, hire, and train new team members. Manage team time and ensure accurate payroll records. Create a culture of continuous improvement, problem solving, and teamwork. Plan, assign, and direct work. Manage performance and provide timely feedback. Address complaints and resolve problems with team and stakeholders. Develop all team members and utilize the Training Lead’s capabilities. Communicate, manage and lead the training team. Maintain a positive, inclusive work environment with an open‑door policy. Key Communications & Behaviors Detail oriented, results focused and highly organized. Positive and professional attitude. Acts as an ambassador for Amy's, welcoming new employees with patience and support. Demonstrates long‑term thinking, inspires others, listens, solves problems, and collaborates. Partners with plant leaders to achieve KPIs. Attends daily Tier Meetings and helps solve plant problems. Attends critical plant meetings (production scheduling, recruiting, RCAs). Communicates proactively with the training team, Plant Management and Training Leadership Team. QUALIFICATIONS Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3 years experience in a food manufacturing environment. 5 years experience in a training role. 5 years experience in a supervisory role. Skills Strong communication skills. Constructively and expeditiously confronts and resolves employee conflicts. Ability to build training presentations. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers and teams. Technology Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams). Data analysis: trend, risk, data significance. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS). Training Skills Willing to learn and grow within a development and coaching role. Motivates, leads, and coaches employees. Supports and listens to employees. Provides timely, constructive feedback. Effectively facilitates classroom and on‑the‑job training. Language Skills Bilingual (preferred) – proficient in written and spoken English and Spanish. Ability to speak effectively before groups. Mathematical Skills Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret extensive technical instructions and manage variables.
