The Position

CareVet is seeking a Manager, Strategic Finance to serve as a CORE Business Partner (CORE BP) on the CORE team, a new team within Financial Operations. This role will be the dedicated finance and operations partner for a portfolio of hospitals and their DM/SMOs, with responsibility for building each hospital's monthly work plan, bringing the numbers and insights behind it, and coordinating how HQ initiatives reach the field. This role reports to the Director, Head of CORE Team.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who enjoys digging into a hospital's P&L, turning analysis into clear priorities, and building trusted relationships with field leaders and HQ teams alike.

Key Responsibilities

• Set operational priorities through monthly hospital work plans , making sure each plan is ranked, owned, dated, built from the numbers and communicated from HQ to the hospitals consistent with the timeline agreed to with leadership.
• Align priorities with the Field Team by partnering with VPOs and DM/SMOs on what goes on each plan, how it ranks, and who owns it, so everyone is aligned before the hospital hears anything.
• Communicate priorities clearly to Hospital Managers and hospital leaders , setting the standard for how CORE BPs explain each plan and the reason behind each priority.
• Track progress and close the loop , running the Week 4 month-end check so every item is marked Done, Carried over, or Off the list, and feeding the results into next month's plan.
• Own the monthly operating rhythm , including the four theme weeks, so every hospital in scope runs the full cycle from its first month.
• Own financial performance for the regions you oversee with your VPO and DM/SMO partners, driving revenue, visits, COGS, labor, and EBITDA results and providing ad-hoc analysis when decisions call for it.
• Build strong relationships with HQ functional teams , so their asks and launches flow through the CORE BPs, with the DM/SMO copied, and hospitals receive fewer, better-sequenced messages.
• Sequence HQ initiatives across the network , fitting each initiative into the right theme week and the right work plans instead of adding to the noise.
• Represent CORE in the monthly CORE SteerCo and leadership reviews , sharing progress, risks, and decisions needed, and serving with the VPOs as an escalation point when CORE BPs, DM/SMOs, and HMs disagree.
• Help improve the CORE model , sharing what is working in your hospitals, helping refine templates and reports, and bringing insights to the Head of CORE Team and the CORE SteerCo.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• 5+ years of P&L analysis experience; ability to read a P&L, identify challenges and opportunities, and build plans to improve performance
• Strong attention to detail, prompt and clear communication, analytical problem-solving, and a strong orientation toward execution
• Advanced Excel skills including financial modeling, complex formulas, pivot tables
• Experience using structured approaches to simplify complex problems and develop data-backed solutions
• Ability to generate useful insights and ideas that advance the business
• Well-rounded interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across teams
• Ability to quickly learn new domains and add value in unfamiliar areas
