Human Resources Assistant | Temporary / Leave Replacement
Branchburg, NJ area | Fully on-site
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an HR Assistant to support and enhance a variety of human resources functions, including employee relations, benefits administration, onboarding, training, policy administration, and compliance. This role partners closely with management to support workforce initiatives, maintain regulatory compliance, and foster a positive employee experience.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 - 2 years of Human Resources experience; manufacturing environment experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of HR practices, employment regulations, and employee relations.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
- Flexibility to support business needs outside of standard hours when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with managers and supervisors to support employee relations, performance management, and workforce development initiatives.
- Assist with the review, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and employment laws.
- Provide guidance on performance concerns, corrective actions, and employee development plans.
- Administer employee leave programs and coordinate required documentation in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate onboarding activities and support new hire orientation programs.
- Serve as a resource for employee benefits questions and act as a liaison with benefit providers.
- Support benefit enrollment activities, including annual open enrollment processes.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Monitor paid time off balances and related employee records.
- Coordinate and facilitate employee training and development programs.
- Investigate and help resolve workplace concerns, employee complaints, and other employee relations matters.
- Assist with employee recognition and engagement initiatives designed to promote a positive workplace culture.
- Maintain HRIS data and generate reports to support business and HR needs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate effectively with employees and managers across all levels of the organization.
