Position: Cardiac OR RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant)
Location: Rochester, NY
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 36 or 48 Hours per Week
Shift: Primarily Weekdays – 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 11:00 AM–11:00 PM
On-Call: Required based on unit needs
Pay Rate: $130/hr
NBO: 24 Hours

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac OR RNFA for a high-acuity cardiovascular surgical team. This role requires a skilled RNFA capable of independently assisting in complex cardiac procedures, including vein harvesting for CABG surgeries and supporting advanced cardiac interventions.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons with chest exposure and closure during cardiac procedures.
• Independently perform vein harvesting for CABG cases.
• Support complex cardiac surgeries including:
  • CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft)
  • Structural Heart Procedures (Bentall, etc.)
  • Minimally Invasive Cardiac Procedures
  • Heart Failure Cases (Impella)
• Participate in on-call rotation as required.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Preferred Experience

• First assisting in DaVinci robotic cardiac procedures.
• Ability to scrub and circulate complex cardiac surgeries.
• Heart transplant experience.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac RNFA experience
• Active New York State RN License
• CNOR Certification
• AHA BLS Certification
• AHA ACLS Certification
• Telemetry experience
• Strong cardiac surgical knowledge and OR experience
