Intake Coordinator, Mental Behavioral Health Institute (MBHI)

Job Responsibilities Track data on number of referrals, referral types and monthly available visit types for supply-demand management. Coordinate and maintain statistical data on number of calls and disposition and participate in the department's Performance Improvement process. Gather clinical, medical, and demographic data to determine appropriate referral and level of care. Document information and refer patients to internal/external services in a timely manner. Respond promptly to intake requests. Initiate referral process to meet the needs of patients as determined by department management and medical staff. Triage and evaluate referrals for appropriateness within or outside the center; assess patient needs vs. service availability for outpatient referrals. Advocate for the needs of child and adolescent patients and families. Assess phone call urgency; for routine calls determine needs and provide referral options; if urgent, transfer to appropriate clinician. Develop skills to interact with third‑party payers and managed care. Maintain professional relationships with referral sources and managed care contacts, authorize outpatient care, and collect benefit information. Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field. Minimum of 2 years' work experience in a related discipline. Job Details Primary location: Burnet Campus. Expected starting pay range: $49,712.00 - $62,150.40 (annualized, may vary with FTE.)
