Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary: Under the supervision of the laboratory supervisor, performs neonatal to adult routine EEGs in the laboratory and at the bedside of critically ill patients in the intensive care units. Provides continuous monitoring EEG studies in the EMU and conducts daily activating maneuvers. Evoked Potential testing (VER, BAER, SEP, SSEP) if necessary as determined by the department director.

Position Requirements

• Licensur e/Certification/Registration: Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Registered EEG Technologist Certification through ABRET preferred.
• Education: Graduate of an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or other licensed healthcare professional with approved training in neurodiagnostic procedures.
• Experience: 1 year minimum experience as an EEG Tech preferred.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Degree of Supervision Required: Minimal – individual proceeds on his/her own initiative in compliance with policies, procedures, and practices prescribed by immediate supervisor.
• Orientation Period: 90 days
