Pay: $18.00 per hour

Benefits:

New hourly full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.

Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off ("PTO") in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.

Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.

Part-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Sick Leave in accordance with state guidelines.

All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Maintenance Groundskeeper maintains an aesthetically pleasing environment to create, protect, and promote an active adult lifestyle community with resort style amenities. This will be achieved by providing Association members and guests with a clean and orderly environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Communicate the core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf to support the achievement of company goals.
• Maintain an aesthetically pleasing environment by sweeping parking lots, streets, gate entrances and exits as well as painting poles, building, equipment and gates.
• Assure entry access to the main clubhouse by unlocking all access doors per standard operating procedures
• Provide assistance to maintenance staff as directed and assigned.
• Navigate the property utilizing a designated company golf cart
• Provide a clean environment for members and Guest.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) of completion; or six (6) months of relative experience; or a combination of relative education and experience in a similar position.
• Skills necessary to safely and efficiently operate the following equipment and machines: Backpack blower; broom; dustpan; ladder; extension pole; general hand tools; and safety equipment such as hearing and eye protection.
• Must demonstrate initiative-ability to think, work, and make independent decisions, based on sound judgment.
• Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
• This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends, and regularly changing hours for shifts. Overtime may be possible during the busy season.
• Valid driver's license is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position operates in both an indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to weather conditions, and occasionally native wildlife, when outdoors on the facility grounds. Outdoor environments may require walking on cement while pushing a cart or carrying items. There may be occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud, depending on the equipment or machines used.

The physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see and hear, speak clearly and understand the speech of another person. This position is very active and requires standing, bending, and walking for most of a work shift, using hands to fingers, touching and holding, and reaching with hands and arms. The position requires the ability to lift and/or push or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees are required to wear all assigned personal protective equipment.
