Audio / Video Worship Media Social Media Digital Communications Classification : Unfunded volunteer ministry internship Program term : Fall 2026 through Spring 2027 (one academic year) Time commitment : Minimum 10 hours per week, including required church gatherings Reports to : Pastor or designated ministry supervisor Position Overview First Baptist Church–Everman is seeking a technically capable ministry student to strengthen the church’s communication through live audio, video, worship presentation, sermon media, and social media. The intern will support worship services and help the church communicate clearly, accurately, and missionally with members, guests, and the surrounding community. Ministry Purpose Support the church’s worship, teaching, discipleship, and outreach ministries through dependable technical production and clear, faithful, public-facing communication. Primary Responsibilities Attend and assist with the weekly Thursday A/V walkthrough and Sunday service preparation. Mix and configure live audio for Sunday morning and evening worship services. Support microphones, signal flow, cameras, video recording, worship presentation, and related equipment. Prepare and operate worship presentation content, including lyrics, Scripture, sermon slides, announcements, and other service elements. Record, edit, package, upload, and distribute sermon and ministry media. Troubleshoot A/V equipment and software calmly and document repeatable solutions. Help recruit and train volunteers in basic A/V and worship-support procedures. Plan and create accurate, timely content for sermons, Bible studies, events, ministry opportunities, and guest connection. Create or coordinate graphics, captions, photos, short-form video, announcements, and promotional material. Maintain an organized communications calendar and coordinate approvals with ministry leaders. Represent the church truthfully, wisely, consistently, and professionally across all platforms. Program-Wide Responsibilities Participate faithfully in the full internship program and serve under the authority of First Baptist Church–Everman leadership. Attend all required Sunday services and weekly ministry gatherings, including internship discipleship, Bible Study, morning and evening worship, Wednesday prayer meeting, Thursday A/V walkthrough, and role-specific meetings or activities. Commit a minimum of 10 hours per week; preparation, projects, special events, and ministry needs may require additional time in some weeks. Participate in the internship discipleship curriculum guided by Kingdom: Explorations of the Sermon on the Mount. Collaborate on the “A New Creation” new-believer curriculum using the designated guide, Scripture, and the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. Submit a written individual project proposal within the first month and complete the approved project before the internship concludes. Participate in orientation, regular supervision, coaching, and formal evaluations. Maintain dependable communication, appropriate conduct and ministry boundaries, confidentiality, and a servant-hearted posture. Required Qualifications Student at Texas Baptist College, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, or another approved seminary or Bible college. Demonstrated competency in live audio-board mixing and configuration. Demonstrated competency with A/V editing software such as DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or comparable tools. Demonstrated competency with worship presentation software such as Proclaim, ProPresenter, or comparable tools. Basic competency in video recording, media-file management, and production workflows. Demonstrated competency in written communications, multiple social media platforms, and appropriate supporting technologies. Reliability, attention to detail, sound judgment, teachability, and the ability to serve calmly under time pressure. Intends to pursue vocational ministry, particularly in or related to the internship’s area of focus. Affirms and will uphold the doctrinal commitments of First Baptist Church–Everman. Provides at least two recommendations: one pastoral recommendation from the applicant’s member church and one educational, ministry, or professional reference. Demonstrates a growing relationship with Christ, active participation in a local church, integrity, humility, teachability, and love for Christ’s church. Is able to fulfill the internship schedule while maintaining academic and personal responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience with church sound systems, sermon media, livestreaming, or volunteer production teams. Familiarity with Canva, Adobe tools, website content systems, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. Ability to write concise captions, announcements, and promotional copy in the church’s voice. Individual Ministry Project Develop an approved church communications and media operations plan that may include A/V procedures, Sunday workflows, troubleshooting guides, volunteer training, a sermon-posting workflow, a social-media calendar, and standards for public-facing church communication. Supervision and Evaluation The intern will receive ongoing coaching and at least three formal evaluations: after the first month, at the end of the Fall semester, and at the conclusion of the Spring semester. Evaluation will consider the following: Technical competence, preparation, and reliability Clarity, accuracy, judgment, and consistency in public communication Teamwork with worship, pastoral, and ministry leaders Volunteer development and completion of assigned projects Phase 2 Funding Consideration This Fall 2026 internship is an unfunded volunteer role. First-year interns who serve faithfully and complete program expectations will receive priority consideration for a second-year funded internship if Phase 2 fundraising is successful.
