RN - Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital

The Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital has been helping patients recover from complex medical conditions and injuries since 2000. The first long-term acute-care hospital (LTACH) in the region, we help patients who are too medically fragile to transfer to a skilled nursing facility, acute rehabilitation hospital or their home after a hospital stay. In addition to general rehabilitation, our team is renowned for their expertise in ventilator weaning and respiratory care.

Job Summary

Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Work Experience: Previous acute care experience preferred
• Licenses / Certifications: Registered Nurse license required, Certification in Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) preferred (must be acquired within 2 years of employment, 1750 hours in direct care of acutely/critically ill patients, with 875 of those hours accrued in the most recent year preceding application), Basic Life Support / CPR, as a healthcare provider, per the American Heart Association required, Must obtain ACLS within six (6) months of employment and then maintain certification throughout employment.
