City Manager

The City of Dallas, Georgia, is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to serve as City Manager. The City Manager will be responsible for overseeing municipal operations, supporting the Mayor and City Council, and ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of services to the community.

The City Manager's duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Reports directly to the Mayor and City Council and carries out their directives in accordance with applicable laws, ordinances, policies, and the City Charter.
• Oversees municipal operations and the day-to-day administrative functions of the City.
• Performs duties and responsibilities as directed by the Mayor and City Council and as required by City ordinances, the City Charter, and applicable state and federal laws.
• Supervises and provides leadership to department heads and support staff.
• Serves as a liaison between the City and County, State, and Federal officials and agencies.
• Assists with the development, preparation, administration, and oversight of the City's annual budget.
• Promotes positive and effective relationships between the City government and the public, fostering communication, cooperation, and community engagement.
• Works collaboratively with elected officials, employees, residents, businesses, and community organizations to advance the goals and objectives of the City.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the Mayor and City Council.

Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant or related discipline, along with a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal government, public administration, management, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal government, public administration, management, or a closely related field.

Compensation will be commensurate with the City's established salary scale and will be determined based on the candidate's education, relevant professional experience, and years of service in a governmental position or closely related field.
