Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience is required. License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; ONS preferred but not required Must-Have: - Cardiac rhythm interpretation skills - Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (such as Cardizem/Amiodarone) - General medical/surgical skillset for care of patients with tubes/drains - IV start skills - Blood product administration experience - Wound care and dressing change skills Description: This position is for an RN in a MedSurg/Telemetry setting. The unit has 34 beds with an average census of 32 plus 3 surge rooms. Patient ratios are 1:5 during days and 1:6 during nights, with a critical surge ratio of 1:7-8. You will care for a variety of patient types and common diagnoses including ESRD, CHF, pneumonia, sickle cell crisis, diabetes/DKA, wounds, and acute/chronic renal failure. In Spring 2026, the unit will also include hematology/oncology patients. Travelers do not need to have chemotherapy certification and will not administer chemotherapy, but must be comfortable caring for these patients. Support is provided within the department by CNAs, charge nurses, and other healthcare professionals. There is continuous telemetry monitoring and dedicated pharmacy support. Floating to other facilities may be required based on regional needs. The unit has a welcoming and psychologically safe culture, with an emphasis on fairness.
