Overview
Licensed Practical Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry overflow (ED boarder support) travel assignment available in Rochester, New York. Start date: 07/06/2026 for a period measured in weeks. Weekly pay range: $1,664 to $1,789 per week. Shift: 4x12-hour days. This is a hospital setting on a 14-bed Med/Surg Telemetry overflow unit that fluctuates with ED demand. The unit accepts first-time traveler assignments and provides a 12-hour orientation to orient new staff. EPIC charting is used for documentation.

Responsibilities
- Deliver bedside nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients on a designated overflow unit; monitor patient status and respond to changes
- Perform Foley care/insertions (male and female), NG/G-tube and feeding tube care; support wound care, dressings, drains, and ostomy care as applicable
- Administer medications (IM/SQ) and monitor patient responses; manage blood glucose and basic medication administration tasks per scope
- Monitor oxygen therapy (nasal cannula, masks), conduct EKG/telemetry monitoring, and support isolation precautions
- Maintain thorough charting in EPIC; provide SBAR handoffs for ED transfers and participate in interdisciplinary communication
- Float to care for other med/surg patients as needed to maintain unit coverage; collaborate with IV team, PT/RT, interpreters, radiology, social services, rapid response, pharmacy, transport, and unit secretary

Requirements
- New York Licensed Practical Nurse license in hand for submission (pending licenses not accepted)
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year RN experience (previous charge experience preferred)
- EPIC charting experience required
- Med/Surg telemetry environment competency; ability to float to care for med/surg patients as needed
- RTO restrictions: minimal; cannot submit candidates with more than 10 days off; local candidates within 75 miles not accepted
