Senior Oracle Database Administrator - Hybrid

Job Title: Senior Oracle Database Administrator - Hybrid Duration (Contract): 5 6 Months Client Location: Nashville, TN 37243 Location Preference: Hybrid Job Description: As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator, you will lead the architecture, administration, and optimization of enterprise Oracle database environments across hybrid infrastructures, including cloud and on-premises systems. You will ensure high availability, performance, and security of mission-critical databases while driving modernization and automation initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in Oracle technologies, cloud platforms, and database lifecycle management, along with the ability to collaborate across teams to deliver scalable and compliant data solutions. Key Responsibilities: Administer and manage Oracle databases (11g through 23c) across cloud and on-premises environments Design and support multi-tenant architectures, RAC, and Data Guard configurations Ensure database performance, availability, and reliability meet enterprise SLAs Manage Oracle deployments in cloud environments and support hybrid connectivity Lead database migration and modernization initiatives across environments Monitor and optimize performance using tools such as AWR, ASH, and enterprise monitoring solutions Tune SQL and PL/SQL code for optimal efficiency and scalability Implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and disaster recovery solutions Maintain high availability through Data Guard and resilience planning Enforce database security standards including encryption, patching, and access controls Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure audit readiness Develop automation scripts and tools using Shell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform Integrate database operations with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices Support data governance initiatives including data quality, lineage, and cataloging Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and maintain operational documentation Provide on-call support and ensure operational excellence of database environments Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies: Extensive experience managing enterprise Oracle database environments Strong expertise in Oracle database administration including RAC and Data Guard Experience working in hybrid cloud environments including cloud and on-prem platforms Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL programming and performance tuning Experience with Linux operating systems and shell scripting Expertise in backup, recovery, and high availability solutions Experience implementing database security controls and compliance standards Familiarity with automation tools and infrastructure-as-code practices Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to lead projects independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams Excellent communication and documentation skills Experience with cloud database platforms and services (preferred) Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD integration (preferred) Experience supporting enterprise data governance and analytics initiatives (preferred) The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $75.00/hr.
