Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist

• Verify physician orders prior to evaluation.
• Evaluate each patient, incorporating both psychological and physical aspects.
• Complete evaluations, establish goals, and plan care in collaboration with the patient and healthcare team.
• Administer and direct all occupational therapy treatments and modalities.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Apply or supervise therapeutic exercises, modalities, and functional mobility training.
• Maintain contact with referring physicians regarding patient progress.

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist

• Doctorate, Master's, or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current New Mexico American Occupational Therapy Association licensure.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience: One year preferred in Occupational Therapy.
• Demonstrated skills in assessment, decision-making, and time management.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
