Job Opportunity: Hematologist/Oncologist with GI/GU Oncology Focus

Our organization, situated in Danbury, Connecticut—just an hour's drive north of New York City—invites applications for a Hematologist/Oncologist specializing in GI/GU Oncology to join our well-established and expanding practice. As our Cancer Institute continues to grow, we are enhancing our clinical trial offerings and striving to become a premier cancer care destination in the region. The selected oncologist will collaborate closely with our GI/GU team across our Danbury and New Milford facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care in GI/GU oncology.
• Engage in clinical trials and research opportunities.
• Participate in the education of medical residents and students.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Board certified or eligible in oncology.
• Subspecialty interest or experience in GI/GU oncology is preferred.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Working Conditions

Our facility is part of a larger health system that includes 28 hospitals and cancer centers across western Connecticut and southeastern New York. We are recognized by The American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program, offering advanced oncology services, including state-of-the-art radiation therapy and surgical specialties in various oncology fields. Additional services such as nurse navigation, genetic counseling, and screening are available on-site.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive annual salary ranging from $475,000 to $600,000, based on experience.
• A sign-on bonus of $50,000 and a retention package, along with relocation assistance for full-time candidates.
• Generous allowances for continuing medical education (CME) time and expenses.

As a not-for-profit community hospital established in 1885, we provide exceptional care to residents in the Greater Danbury area. With 371 beds and a Level II Trauma Center, we handle approximately 70,000 emergency department visits annually.
