Fraud Specialist IIAs a Fraud Specialist II your primary responsibilities will center around one of two fraud specialties, account fraud or card fraud. You will be responsible for mitigating risk and minimizing loss by investigating moderately complex alleged and identified fraud against the credit union and its members. Provides telephone customer service support and assistance to members and employees in regards to debit card, account, and fraud questions. Responsible for the analysis and investigation of suspicious accounts, transactions, various fraud and card related activity alerts, reports or inquires from members or credit union staff. Accountable for the detection, prevention, and investigation of fraudulent, illegal or improper activities by internal or external means. Identifies fraudulent activity and trends at an early stage to minimize losses. Direct Reports: NoneHow You Will Make An Impact40% Performs duties of Fraud Specialist I, when applicable, and provides telephone member service support and assistance to members and employees regarding moderately complex debit card or account fraud questions. Maintains a moderate understanding of Reg E, UCC, Reg CC and Identity Theft red flags. Position has moderate knowledge of fraud and scams applicable to the credit union and its members and the channels used to commit fraudulent or illicit activity. Strengthens and promotes fraud awareness through education and collaboration with employees and members.30% Reviews, analyzes, investigates, and handles more complex fraud cases within your designated fraud specialty area. Makes recommendations for implementing fraud prevention measures or debit card fraud rules. Responsible for meeting regulation timelines in order to maintain compliance related to provisional credit. Responds appropriately to incidents, takes action to minimize and mitigate loss, and reports incidents to others as required.10% Assigns cases to the BSA Team as needed for review for the filing of potential SARs. Collaborates with various departments during the investigation process; refers fraudulent negative share situations to Member Solutions for collection or workout arrangements.10% Participates in departmental cross training to learn how to perform duties associated with the other fraud specialty area. Maintains industry knowledge by attending educational workshops, webinars and training opportunities offered through a variety of resources, such as trade associations, vendors, and the credit union's learning management system.10% Responsible for mitigating departmental net fraud loss measures as established by management.Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.If applicable: this position may have additional duties to include bilingual duties noted in the Bilingual Policy.What You Will Need To SucceedExperience3 - 5 years of investigative, fraud, or research experience within the financial industry.Education / Certifications / LicensesBachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or related field.
