Certified Surgical Technologist - CST

Job Description:
Work Schedule: Night shift, 40 hours per week. This typically consists of 8-hour shifts, though 12-hour shifts may be an option. Every other weekend is required.
## Core Responsibilities
• Sterile Technique: Practice expert surgical scrub techniques and maintain asepsis throughout procedures to prevent infection.
• Surgical Assistance: Help the surgeon with gowning, gloving, and draping. Proactively pass instruments, sutures, and medical equipment during delivery room procedures.
• Safety & Accountability: Conduct meticulous counts of sponges, needles, and instruments. Identify and report potential hazards (chemical, gas, or equipment-related) within the OR.
• Technical Support: Assist with suctioning, retracting, and suturing under the direct guidance of the surgeon.
• Efficiency: Manage the turnover of the delivery room between cases and ensure all supplies are assembled according to surgeon preference cards.
• Specimen Handling: Properly identify and process medical specimens according to hospital policy.
## Requirements & Qualifications
• Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Certifications: You must hold a valid BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), HSI, or the client.
• Experience: Previous experience in an Operating Room (OR) is highly preferred.
• Specialized Background: The manager prefers candidates dedicated Scrub Technician experience.
• Essential Skills: High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a high-stakes clinical environment.
