Associate Engineer – Nashville, TN We are seeking an Associate Engineer for our Nashville office. The role involves fieldwork and in‑office analysis, providing expert consulting services to clients and ensuring accurate, science‑based reconstruction of high‑stakes vehicle accidents. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Field Investigation & Evidence Collection Perform on‑site inspections, vehicle assessments, and rapid‑response investigations. Capture and document physical evidence using advanced tools such as 3D laser scanning, drones, and digital photography. Preserve scene and vehicle conditions through accurate documentation before environmental changes. Engineering Analysis & Technical Support Apply engineering principles to analyze vehicle motion, damage patterns, impact forces, and driver response. Use specialized software tools including CAD, photogrammetry, collision simulation, laser scanning platforms, and EDR analysis. Support planning and execution of engineering analyses under senior guidance. Documentation & Reporting Prepare clear, technically accurate written materials for engineering reports. Assist with the development of visual exhibits and reconstruction models. Present technical findings to internal team members and external audiences. Project & Team Support Support multiple projects with competing deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy. Collaborate effectively with engineers, client engagement staff, and operations partners. Demonstrate professionalism and accountability in all client‑facing and internal interactions. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge Engineering fundamentals relevant to motor vehicle crash analysis. Vehicle dynamics, automotive systems, and mechanical principles. Interest or exposure to advanced driver‑assist systems, autonomous vehicle technologies, and vehicle data networks. Skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Technical writing and documentation skills. Ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Proficiency in 3D modeling and engineering software tools. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Abilities Work effectively in both field and office environments. Manage regional travel requirements (~50%). Collaborate within a team‑based environment. Learn new tools, technologies, and analytical methods. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline (required). Master’s degree (preferred). Academic or applied experience in technical research, analysis, or engineering projects (preferred). Work Environment & Travel Requirements Combination of office‑based analysis and field investigation work. Approximately 50% regional travel required.
