Brewhouse Assistant

Brewer/Cellarperson

Assist the brew team with all aspects of brewing quality, consistent beer.

Storm Peak Brewing Company is looking to add a Brewer/Cellarperson to our growing team. This person will assist in most aspects of production from raw material handling to finished product management as well as QA/QC assistance. Expectation is their time will be spent mostly in the production/lab environment and fill-in with computer help as needed. If working full time, option to work 4 x 10 hour shifts or 5 x 8 hour shifts per week.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitor gravities, temperatures, pH, off flavors, and carbonations daily and log accordingly
• Yeast harvesting and management including cell counts and viability monitoring
• Can line assistance (e.g. maintenance, pallet building, finished good handling)
• Keg washing/filling
• Lab assistance (e.g. plating, media preparation)
• Data entry (Excel competent)
• Facilities maintenance-floors, drains, grounds, general facility appearance upkeep
• Tank and other equipment cleaning (manual cleaning, CIP, SIP)
• Inventory of raw materials and finished goods

Qualifications:

• Ability to multi-task is a must
• A strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Critical Thinking/Problem Solver
• Self-motivated and can take initiative
• Organized
• Clean
• Physically capable of performing daily brewery work; standing most of the day, crouching, lifting 50LBs +, climbing a ladder etc..
• Science, kitchen or mechanical background a plus
• Prior brewery experience preferred
• Ability to work as a team and independently
• Ability to work safely and quickly
• Ability to consistently and correctly perform standard operating procedures
• Ability to work a flexible schedule on some weeks
