Key Qualifications:

• Active and current South Carolina state teaching license
• Credentialed in Middle Level Science or Science (required—no exceptions)
• Experience teaching general education science at the middle school level preferred
• Strong classroom management skills, along with creativity in lesson planning
• Passion for encouraging inquiry and a love of science in adolescents

Primary Responsibilities:

• Teach general education science classes to middle school students Monday through Friday
• Develop and implement engaging, standards-based lesson plans
• Assess student progress and communicate regularly with parents and other staff
• Adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events
• Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment

This contract position offers a structured Monday through Friday schedule (7:15am to 2:45pm; 37.5 hours weekly), providing a satisfying work-life balance while serving a vibrant school community.
