Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience (preferred) Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) class A (preferred) This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. Candidates must, within 6 months of hire, obtain a CDL, pass a Ryder drug test, pass a DOT physical, pass a Ryder road test, and pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from the last 3 years. Additional screening may include employment and education verification, motor‑vehicle record check, a road test, and/or requirements specific to the customer assignment. Responsibilities Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties Perform standard vehicle maintenance Conduct standard component inspections and repairs Execute preventive maintenance Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computer when applicable Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required Replace defective components as instructed Perform facility maintenance duties Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints when a task is assigned Utilize key functions of the shop management system and electronic documentation available Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT) Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to Service Island support Ryder is proud to be an equal‑opportunity employer and drug‑free workplace.
