Job Description\n Med Ninjas is seeking a travel Vascular Interventional Technician for a travel job in Urbana, Illinois.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Vascular Interventional Technician\n Discipline: Allied Health Professional\n Start Date: ASAP\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Job Summary (List Format) – Registered Radiologic Technologist, Heart & Vascular Institute\n - Provides patient care for individuals requiring invasive cardiology or radiology studies.\n - Assists physicians during all procedures in the Heart & Vascular Institute.\n - Administers contrast materials via IV or venipuncture; monitors and responds to allergic reactions.\n - Works under direct supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist.\n - Ensures correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment positioning.\n - Compiles and reviews pertinent clinical information (labs, pathology, etc.).\n - Documents procedures and patient information accurately and completely.\n - Explains procedures to patients; ensures comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.\n - Informs procedural nurse of correct doses of medications, radiation, and counts during procedures.\n - Performs on-call duties and works variable shifts as assigned.\n - Manages inventory and assists with supply management.\n - Trains and instructs new staff as necessary.\n - Performs all standard Radiologic Technologist duties.\n - Performs department-specific tasks including:\n - Administering or withholding contrast/treatment as appropriate.\n - Assessing patients for allergies.\n - Participating in peripheral vascular work, venous central line placement, tube changes, embolization (venous and arterial), and venous thrombectomy procedures.\n - Assisting with interventional neurology, dialysis (AV fistulas, tunneled catheters, peritoneal catheters), and various tube access/changes (G-tube, chole, neph, biliary, abscess, SPC).\n - Supporting neuro procedures (e.g., cerebral arterial/venous, kyphoplasty) as needed.\n - Maintains sterile field and assists in pulling supplies for procedures.\n - Adheres to departmental and safety protocols at all times.\n - Requires ability to communicate effectively, follow detailed instructions, and maintain compassion in patient care.\n - Manual dexterity required for handling small supplies.\n - Education: Associate’s degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology required.\n - Certifications: BLS, ACLS, IEMA Radiography (Illinois), ARRT (R) required.\n - Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30am–5:00pm (4/9s); neuro experience required.\n - Language: Proficient in English (speak, read, write).\n Med Ninjas Job ID #7207.
