Senior Estimator

Summary

A commercial general contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction efforts on ground up projects in the Orange County market. This role plays a key part in pricing strategy and works closely with operations and leadership on complex commercial and industrial builds.

This is a good fit for someone who has led estimates independently from concept through final pricing and is comfortable owning the numbers on large scale ground up work.

Key Responsibilities

Lead estimating efforts for ground up commercial construction projects
Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to build accurate estimates
Develop quantity takeoffs and pricing models from conceptual through GMP
Manage subcontractor outreach, bid leveling, and bid analysis
Coordinate with operations and project management to align on strategy

Requirements

5+ years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor
Ground up construction background, large scale or structural concrete projects a plus
Proven ability to run estimates independently start to finish
Strong understanding of construction means and methods, structural systems, and site work
Established subcontractor relationships in the Southern California market a plus
Comfortable in a fast paced environment with a high level of ownership
