We are partnering with the University of Rhode Island to find a detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to support bi-weekly payroll processing, timecard auditing, payroll corrections, employee pay inquiries, and payroll-related reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll administration, analytical, and reconciliation skills, with the ability to research discrepancies, interpret payroll requirements, and maintain accuracy while meeting critical payroll deadlines.

Pay & Job Highlights:

Pay Rate: $30 per hour
Location: Kingston, RI

Responsibilities of the Payroll Analyst:

• Process and support bi-weekly payroll activities, ensuring payroll transactions are accurate, complete, and processed within established deadlines.
• Review and audit employee timecards, timekeeping records, and payroll transactions to identify errors, missing information, and discrepancies.
• Research and resolve payroll issues, including retroactive pay adjustments, payroll corrections, timekeeping discrepancies, and employee compensation concerns.
• Analyze payroll data, perform reconciliations, maintain supporting documentation, and assist with payroll reporting, audits, compliance reviews, and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications of the Payroll Analyst:

• Experience processing high-volume bi-weekly payroll, auditing employee time records, researching payroll discrepancies, and processing payroll adjustments or corrections is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze large datasets, reconcile payroll information, identify trends, and prepare accurate reports.
• Knowledge of payroll processes, wage calculations, payroll regulations, and the impact of collective bargaining agreements on wages, overtime, differentials, and special pay situations is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict payroll deadlines.
