Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial evaluations for personal injury patients, establishing accurate diagnoses and comprehensive treatment plans.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), muscle relaxers, and pain management patches, ensuring proper medication management.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as MRIs to guide treatment decisions.
• Utilize telehealth platforms effectively for remote consultations, expanding access to healthcare services for our patients.
• Facilitate referrals to physical therapists and pain management specialists as necessary, coordinating care to optimize patient outcomes.
• Manage and document patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring privacy and accuracy in healthcare documentation.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to create a seamless continuum of care for our patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant in this role will primarily serve a diverse cohort of patients experiencing acute and chronic pain conditions. Our patient population includes individuals recovering from surgery, injury, or those managing chronic conditions such as arthritis. The PA will play a crucial role in developing individualized treatment plans, educating patients about pain management techniques, and enhancing their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant license in New York State.
• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant by a nationally recognized certifying body.
• Proficient in medical documentation and adept in using electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective interactions with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of two years of experience in pain management or a related field is preferred. Compensation and Benefits
