An exciting opportunity awaits skilled Occupational Therapists eager to support middle school students near Evanston, IL. This contract position offers an immediate start and the chance to work onsite across two middle schools, Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 3:15 pm. If a full-time schedule isn’t ideal, there’s flexibility for two part-time professionals to share the opportunity. You’ll become an integral part of a collaborative team of eight OTs, all dedicated to enhancing student outcomes across the district.
Key Qualifications:
- Licensed and certified Occupational Therapist with relevant school-based experience
- Experience supporting middle school-aged students highly preferred
- Ability to conduct comprehensive initial and re-evaluations for special education eligibility
- Knowledge of providing support through MTSS and IEP processes
- Strong communication, collaboration, and consultative skills
- Capacity to work both independently and as a valued team member
- Flexibility to adapt to varying student needs and caseloads
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver onsite OT services across two middle schools within the school district
- Conduct assessments, evaluations, and re-evaluations to determine student needs and eligibility
- Provide direct and indirect services to students with IEPs, as well as MTSS support
- Consult and collaborate with building teams to facilitate student skill generalization
- Maintain ongoing communication with educators, staff, and families to ensure cohesive support plans
- Participate in building-level teams to advocate and plan for student success
