Advancement Coordinator

We are on the lookout for an Advancement Coordinator to join our US staff team! Check out the job description and application information below. Some of our amazing Seed Effect Uganda and US Staff members This is primarily a relational, front-of-the-room role. The goal is for you to spend most of your days connecting with people: meeting supporters alongside the Executive Director and on your own, hosting donor events, inviting donors deeper into the work, and following up faithfully so no relationship goes cold. You will help care for our donors and invite them to participate in the mission: to attend and host gatherings, and to travel to Uganda to see the work firsthand. This role is designed to grow. With a defined path toward Advancement Manager over time, you will build relationships of your own and step into greater scope as you demonstrate readiness. We are looking for someone we can invest in. What You’ll Do Cultivate donor relationships alongside the Executive Director Spend significant face time with donors: meetings, meals, calls, and visits, both alongside the Executive Director and on your own. Build authentic relationships through warmth and genuine care, centered on the people across the table. Follow up faithfully on every relationship: notes, thank‑yous, calls, and next steps, so no one falls through the cracks. Care for The Greenhouse and mid-level donors Keep The Greenhouse (monthly) and mid-level donors connected through warm, consistent stewardship: welcomes, monthly check‑ins, and thank‑yous. Notice when a donor is ready to get more involved, and help connect them. Host and execute donor events Partner with the Executive Director to plan donor events end‑to‑end, owning the details and logistics that make each one run smoothly. Rally guests and sponsors for donor events, and invite supporters to host gatherings of their own. Co‑host and host donor coffees, lunches, and dinners, making every gathering warm, intentional, and well‑prepared. Invite and accompany donors to Uganda to witness the work firsthand, preparing them with a thoughtful pre‑trip orientation in partnership with the Director of Programs. Help open doors with new supporters Bring an enthusiastic, relational first touch to prospective supporters, starting from the Executive Director’s introductions and warm referrals, and growing your own connections over time. Keep your records current Capture your donor interactions, commitments, and next steps in Virtuous CRM and monday.com so nothing slips. Keep your own follow‑ups visible and up to date. Process gifts and deposits Pick up donor mail weekly and route checks and correspondence promptly. Prepare and execute weekly bank deposits in partnership with the Director of Operations and the Gift Operations contractor. Scan and upload donor documents and gift records into Google Drive. Respond to donor inquiries Return donor voicemails, emails, and inquiries with warmth and care. Handle sensitive moments such as gift cancellations and address changes with grace and gratitude. What We’re Looking For Required A people person and natural connector: you genuinely love being with people and bring energy to every room. Strong follow‑through: you close loops and finish what you start without being chased. 2+ years in development, donor relations, hospitality, events, ministry, or a relationship‑driven role. Warmth and emotional intelligence in interactions with people of all backgrounds. Strong written and verbal communication. Comfort with Google Workspace and willingness to learn Virtuous CRM and monday.com (or experience with comparable tools). Ability and willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally, including to Uganda. Comfort hosting and co‑hosting donor meals, including in restaurants and home settings. Availability for occasional evening and weekend donor events. Personal commitment to Christ‑centered ministry and alignment with Seed Effect’s mission, values, and statement of faith. Helpful but not required Prior experience in nonprofit fundraising, advancement, or donor relations. Experience with Virtuous CRM. Event hosting or coordination experience.
