This high-profile contractor has a strong reputation for delivering projects valued between 1m-9m for National Highways and multiple local authorities and offers a strong pipeline of work as well as excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. As part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their team.This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Essex office with hybrid and flexible working.Your new roleAs Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will lead the commercial management of multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with operational teams, clients and senior stakeholders, you will provide strategic commercial leadership, ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong contractual compliance and risk management.Key responsibilities will include:Leading and mentoring Quantity Surveyors and commercial teams across multiple projects.Managing project budgets, forecasting, cost control and financial reporting.Administering NEC and other standard forms of contract.Overseeing subcontract procurement, negotiation and account management.Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout project lifecycles.Managing change control, compensation events and variations.Producing and reviewing CVRs, cash flow forecasts and final accounts.Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, supply chain partners and internal stakeholders.Supporting business growth through commercial input into tenders and pre-construction activities.What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful, you must have:Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar qualification) or experience equivalentProven experience operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor level within civil engineeringStrong knowledge of NEC contracts (ideally Options A, B and/or E) and commercial management principlesExcellent cost management, forecasting and financial reporting skillsStrong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management capabilitiesFull UK driving licence.What you'll get in returnIn return, you will receive:Starting salary up to 95,000 per annumCompany car (with fuel card) or car allowance25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidaysPensionHybrid working (2 days’ remote per week) and flexible working hoursLife assuranceMultiple health and wellbeing benefitsContinuous training and developmentExposure to high-profile and rewarding projectsSupportive and collaborative work environmentClear pathways for professional development and career progressionOpportunity to advance your career with an award-winning and well-established contractor and more.What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
