About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief of Transportation Engineering and Construction. This senior leadership role is pivotal in directing and overseeing professional engineering, construction, and administrative operations within the realms of highways and street engineering, bridge engineering, construction management, land surveying, and footways and alleys. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the division, establishing and implementing goals, policies, and procedures, and ensuring that all construction projects comply with engineering and construction practices, codes, standards, and regulations. Additionally, the Chief will be involved in the procurement of capital projects, administration of expenditures, and will serve as the principal engineering and construction leader, providing strategic direction and expertise across the department. Applicants for the Chief of Transportation Engineering and Construction position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, with at least 10 years' of experience in managing engineering projects, and a minimum of 5 years' in a supervisory or management role. The role requires a candidate with a thorough knowledge of engineering principles, budgeting, fiscal management, and organizational management. The ability to apply administrative and analytical techniques to complex projects, as well as excellent communication skills and the capacity to coordinate activities across multiple units and stakeholders, is essential. The Chief will also be expected to have a valid driver's license and be eligible for a Baltimore City driver's permit. The position is subject to a background check and a mandatory 6-month probationary period.
