A leading healthcare organization in Westchester County is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Endoscopy Department. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, operational excellence, staff development, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational goals.

The Nurse Manager serves as the vital connection between strategic initiatives and frontline patient care while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

• Provide 24-hour accountability for department operations and patient care delivery

• Develop and implement departmental goals aligned with organizational objectives

• Promote shared governance, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement

• Lead change management initiatives and support emergency preparedness planning

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency

Staff Management & Development

• Evaluate staffing needs based on patient census, acuity, and budgeted staffing plans

• Lead recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and retention initiatives

• Mentor and coach nursing staff through performance evaluations and professional development

• Ensure completion of orientation, competency validations, and ongoing education requirements

• Foster open communication through staff meetings, huddles, and rounding initiatives

Financial & Performance Management

• Manage staffing productivity and departmental budgets

• Monitor operational and capital expenses while identifying opportunities for efficiency

• Oversee quality improvement initiatives and key performance indicators

• Support patient safety initiatives, incident reporting, and regulatory compliance

• Maintain readiness for state, federal, and accreditation surveys

Relationship & Professional Management

• Promote teamwork, professionalism, and conflict resolution
• Serve as a role model and change agent within the department
• Participate in professional development and leadership activities
• Utilize healthcare technology systems to support operations and patient care delivery

Qualifications

• Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BSN required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• ACLS certification preferred (or required depending on department needs)
• Nurse leadership or management experience preferred
• Specialty certification or Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) certification preferred; required within three years of hire
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• A minimum of two years of Endoscopy experience is preferred.
