Lead Bartender

ALIBI ROOM is a long time Venice, Mar Vista, Culver City westside locals neighborhood watering hole and everyone's favorite outstanding KOGI Chef Roy Choi!!

Currently looking for a Bartender (Saturday Shift Lead Bartender) to fill Friday & Saturday nights 4/5pm - 12:30/1am and pickup/fill in shifts. 

Due to our outdoor expansion after covid our bartenders do both bartending and serving on certain nights. We do not have a server position at the Alibi Room. On Tuesdays & Wednesdays bartenders bartend, serve and barback. On Thursdays & Fridays bartenders bartend and serve. Saturdays bartenders only bartend (no table service). Anyone interviewing must be comfortable and willing to be both a bartender and server, and able to pick up shifts when needed periodically. We completely understand if this is not a fit for you.

The current open bartender position for Fridays involves bartending but will occasionally require helping other bartenders with overflow serving based on volume. The Saturday position is a key holder/ manager on duty bartending role. Saturday MOD/key holder is responsible for opening and closing, putting staff on 30 min breaks, managing the flow of the night, closing financial details, completing the nightly report and handling any Saturday night staff/guest incidents or health dept visits. This role serves as backup to the MOD/Bar Manager, filling in when needed and handling monthly inventory.

 

Must be available for ALL holidays (holidays are blackout dates - must be available to work - no last min change of plans).

We are closed on Sundays & Mondays. Having another job cannot interfere with scheduling needs at any time, no exceptions.

Qualifications:

• TEAM PLAYER with strong work ethic, takes initiative, and maintains a "can do" positive attitude while adhering to company operational guidelines. Great personality w/ a record of working well within a team environment.
• Combination of a minimum 3 years of high-volume bartending & craft cocktail bartending experience.
• Minimum 1 year in a leadership, lead bartender, or management role preferred.
• Strong craft cocktail, craft beer, wine, and spirits knowledge.
• Experience handling/managing inventory.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and work well in a team environment.
• Have a high sense of responsibility and passion for providing genuine hospitality.
• Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining great enthusiasm and managing job responsibilities.
• Have great communication skills
• Familiarity with restaurant POS systems, Toast.
• Able to lift up to 25lbs
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Understand that last-minute call-outs require securing coverage.
• Current California RBS Certification required.
• Servsafe Certification required
