Diabetes Foot Care Specialist RNThe Diabetes Foot Care Specialist RN delivers comprehensive foot care services that emphasize prevention, early detection, and patient education. Responsibilities include conducting foot assessments, providing routine treatments, evaluating footwear, and coordinating care when further medical attention is needed.Key Responsibilities:Conduct initial and annual foot assessments, including diabetes history and medication reviewExamine foot structure, circulation, skin, and nails; document findingsProvide routine foot care: nail trimming and filing, reduction of thick nails, calluses, corns, and ingrown nail portionsInspect footwear for safety and fitRefer patients to medical providers as neededEducate patients on foot care, prevention, and available resourcesMaintain accurate documentation in the electronic health recordQualifications:Current unencumbered Oregon RN license (required upon submission)Healthcare Provider BLS certification (required)Certification as a Diabetes Educator (CDE/CDCES) preferredBachelor's degree in nursing preferredPrior teaching experience preferredMinimum of three (3) years clinical experience as an RN or RD, with emphasis on diabetes care and/or chronic disease management preferred
