Operations Accounting Manager

We are seeking an Operations Accounting Manager to support a growing transportation operation and serve as a key liaison between finance and operations. This role combines day-to-day accounting responsibilities with operational support, financial analysis, problem solving, and process ownership. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working closely with operational teams, investigating issues independently, and helping improve efficiency as the business continues to grow. Key Responsibilities Manage daily ticketing, reconciliation, and billing preparation activities. Reconcile operational activity and financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness. Review revenue activity, customer setup, payment remittances, and related accounting transactions. Maintain subcontractor tracking, invoice review, and month-end accrual support. Assist with month-end close, account reconciliations, and recurring financial schedules. Support preparation and review of divisional operating results and P&L activity. Partner closely with operational leadership to investigate and resolve issues. Coordinate customer and subcontractor onboarding documentation and setup. Support process improvement initiatives focused on billing, ticketing, reporting, and operational workflows. Serve as a finance business partner to the operation, including occasional customer communication. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Progressive accounting experience at the Senior Accountant level or equivalent. Strong understanding of reconciliations, accruals, month-end close, and financial reporting. Demonstrated ability to independently research issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions. Strong Excel skills and aptitude for learning accounting and operational systems. Effective communication skills with the ability to work across accounting, operations, customers, and subcontractors. Organized and self-directed with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Additional Information Generally 40-hour work weeks. Initially 100% onsite in Lebanon, TN.
