Job DescriptionJob DescriptionFamily Law and/or Civil Litigation AttorneyLocation: Bismarck, NDEmployment Type: Full-TimeExperience Level: Entry-Level to 20+ Years of ExperienceAbout the PositionA well-established and growing law firm in Bismarck, North Dakota is seeking a Family Law and/or Civil Litigation Attorney to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney at any stage of their career — from a newly licensed attorney looking to build their practice to an experienced attorney with 20+ years of experience.The firm is open to candidates with a background in family law, civil litigation, or both, and will consider experience levels ranging from entry-level to highly experienced practitioners. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, analytical thinker, and dedicated advocate who is interested in providing high-quality legal representation to clients.ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients in family law and/or civil litigation mattersConduct legal research and analyze statutes, case law, and legal issuesDraft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and other legal documentsManage cases from initial consultation through resolutionPrepare for and participate in hearings, depositions, mediations, negotiations, and trialsCommunicate regularly with clients regarding case status, strategy, and expectationsDevelop case strategies based on the facts, applicable law, and client objectivesConduct discovery and review relevant documents and evidenceNegotiate settlements and represent clients in alternative dispute resolution proceedingsMaintain accurate case files and meet court deadlines and procedural requirementsCollaborate with attorneys, paralegals, legal staff, and other professionalsMaintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standardsQualificationsJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolActive license to practice law in the State of North Dakota, or eligibility to obtain oneStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent analytical, research, and problem-solving abilitiesStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple cases and competing deadlinesProfessional judgment and the ability to work independentlyExperienceAll experience levels are encouraged to apply.Entry-Level Attorneys: Attorneys who are newly licensed or have limited practical experience are encouraged to apply.
