Hotel Housekeeper, USC Hotel

Overview USC Hotel, part of the USC Auxiliary Services division, seeks a Housekeeper to maintain a clean, welcoming environment for guests. The Housekeeper will perform daily housekeeping tasks in guest rooms and public areas, ensuring compliance with hotel standards and safety regulations. Responsibilities Perform standard housekeeping procedures and clean and service assigned guest rooms in a timely and organized manner. Maintain cleanliness of assigned facilities and ensure housekeeping standards are consistently met. Follow team cleaning and self‑inspecting program protocols, inspecting public and back‑of‑house areas for cleanliness. Shampoo carpets, strip and wax floors throughout the hotel as required. Notify front‑desk staff when a room is ready for sale; report rooms unable to be serviced within time standards to supervisor. Provide excellent customer service to faculty, staff, students, and guests; respond to requests efficiently and maintain a friendly demeanor. Deliver housekeeping supplies and linens, assist with heavy items when needed, and maintain neat linen carts and storage rooms. Operate washers, dryers, and other mechanical cleaning equipment following manufacturer guidelines. Secure keys, equipment, and supplies each day and report unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor. Assist in training new and temporary housekeepers on proper use of cleaning equipment and hotel procedures. Perform any other related duties or support roles as requested by management. Qualifications High school diploma not required. Minimum of 2 years of housekeeping experience. Knowledge of cleaning standards, methods, materials, and equipment. Experience operating mechanical cleaning equipment. Proficiency in customer service and effective communication in English. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and maintain professional appearance in a higher education environment. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma. Knowledge of standard cleaning chemicals. Experience overseeing student, temporary, or resource workers. Worked in a fast‑paced hotel environment. Compensation Hourly rate: $26.21.
