Registered Nurse RN NICU

Position Summary Full‑time Night shift RN in the Neo‑Natal Intensive Care Unit at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix. Work hours 7:00PM – 7:30AM, 3 shifts per week including weekends and holidays on a rotating basis. Self‑scheduling tool available. Receive 18% night shift differential and $3/hour weekend shift differential. Responsibilities Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs; review history, laboratory data, and consult team members. Formulate individualized plans of care based on assessment data, patient and family input, and medical orders; set realistic, measurable goals. Implement care: direct patient care, coordinate, delegate, and supervise activities of health‑care team; ensure compliance with regulations and institutional policies. Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching; revise plan of care as needed; evaluate progress toward goals. Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record, ensuring legibility and timeliness. Provide evidence‑based care; participate in research activities and unit leadership initiatives; mentor staff when appropriate. Participate in quality improvement and professional organizations to enhance patient outcomes. Supervise staff and manage department workflow in certain roles. Communicate with physicians, nurses, family, and external partners to clarify information and provide spiritual support when needed. Qualifications Valid RN license in state of practice (or temporary/interim/compact license). BLS certification required. Prior NICU RN experience required. Experience in acute‑care setting within the past 12 months. Ability to maintain clinical performance competencies and complete annual validations.
