What You’ll Do As an EHS Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting and advancing BGF’s environmental, health, and safety initiatives across manufacturing operations. Why Join BGF Industries? Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to management and implement when necessary Conduct new employee orientation. Instruct industrial truck training and maintain files on employees with industrial truck license. Maintain security system and issue new access cards when needed. Maintain master copy of SDS’s and history file on SDS for the Plant. Generate and maintain chemical labels for secondary containers throughout plant as necessary Coordinate and administer all written EHS programs and maintain the appropriate files/plans. Coordinate and update individual department Job Safety Analysis. Conduct/coordinate inspections and audits, and ensure corrective actions are monitored and documented Responsible for all Environmental reporting, compliance audits, meetings and visits from the EPA and DEQ. Coordinate for Safety Inspections & Safety Meetings in each department and follow up as necessary. Participate in all accident investigations and ensure follow up on unsafe conditions. Responsible for compliance of EHS transportation programs – DOT. Conduct hazardous waste inspections as specified Maintain RCRA and DOT certifications Complete wastewater testing as specified by permit Keep accurate and concise records on emissions per permits (Air, Hazardous Waste, Wastewater) Other duties assigned by Plant Manager MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS: (Four-year degree in science or a related discipline with 4 plus years of experience in a Manufacturing Environment). Satisfactorily complete industrial truck licensing requirements. Be able to work on any shift as needed.
